An Open Wiki (read-only to the public; read/write for panel members) for coordinating the UK's input into the JTC 1 Fast Track ballot on DIS 29500 (Office Open XML or OOXML)

This Wiki ceased active use in July 2007. It remains as a historical resource. Please note the contents of this site do not, and did not, represent the settled opinion of BSI; comments gathered here were reviewed by parent committees of IST41/-/1 to inform the September 2007 UK position. For further information see the BSI FAQ on OOXML standardisation. Note that in April 2008, DIS 29500 received the necessary votes in an international ballot to be approved as an ISO/IEC standard (ISO press release).

• The All Party Parliamentary Internet Group (APIG) has asked to be briefed on the standardisation of DIS 29500. See the handout Francis Cave (chairman, IST/41) and Alex Brown (Convenor, IST41/-/1) have, in their personal capacities, prepared for them here.

• Following a round of telephone conferences, the Panel Convenor's Interim Report of 22 June summarises panel activity to that date.
